A woman who sold 17 young women into sexual slavery has been detained in Kazakhstan
According to gazeta.kz, the director of a model agency in Karaganda has been detained by the law enforcement authorities of Kazakhstan on suspicion of selling young girls into sexual slavery abroad.
It was reported that the young girls were sent to the Persian Gulf countries (UAE and Bahrain) as models and were kept in sexual slavery in Arabic monarchies.
As stated by kazinform, the police identified 17 young women who turned out in this situation. Some of them are still kept in sexual imprisonment. There is a young girl under age among these women. She was just 15 years old when she was sent abroad.
The girl has been taken out of Kazakhstan with her mother’s consent. It has been reported that her mother was convinced that her daughter would take part in a photo shoot of some fashion house.
All the victims are from wealthy families. Some of the models did not give a notice to their parents about their trip to the Arab Peninsula. They said to them that they were leaving for a business tour around the republic.
The owner of the model agency convinced the girls by offering them a lot of money. If the girls did not agree, she would bully them. She bought the tickets for the girls and prepared all the required papers so that they could go abroad.
The suspect is currently under prejudicial inquiry based on part 3 of the 126 rule of the Kazakhstan Criminal Code (“Selling people”). She has been kept in the temporary detention facility.
