Ali Gomaa: “Military branch of the Muslim Brotherhood invented by Adolf Hitler”
During a television interview on Egyptian channel CBC, Egypt’s former mufti Ali Gomaa claimed that the Muslim Brotherhood military branch was invented by Adolf Hitler.
Gomaa declared that all terror organisations connected with the Muslim Brotherhood group and its founder Hassan al-Banna were managed by the Nazi before and during the Second World War.
The group Muslim Brotherhood was founded by Hassan al-Banna in 1928 as a mass movement. The military wing was formed sometime later. Its main purpose was to fight the British occupation and to take part in the Arab-Israeli war of 1948.
In addition to this, Gomaa said that al-Banna was in contact with the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini who advised him to reach out to Hitler. Hitler approved of the Egyptian’s intention and helped him to send 300 people to Germany for military training.
It is not the first time Gomaa expressed his negative opinion with regard to the Muslim Brotherhood and its members. In his interview, he also mentioned that al-Banna studied communism, Masonism, Zionism and Nazism. These theories encouraged him to introduce some special cult rituals to the organisation.
The Muslim Brotherhood was illegal until 2011 when the President Hosni Mubarak was toppled. As a result, a political wing of the organisation was established. It is called “the Freedom and Justice Party”. The party managed to win parliamentary and presidential elections.
Yet, their disastrous political approach failed and led to the uprisings of 2013. When Abdel Fattah al Sisi took over the power, the organisation was recognised as being terrorist and some of its members were condemned to death.
