LDPR calls to admit Russian allies from the Arabic countries into SCO
As reported by “Russian Planet”, the deputy of the State Duma from the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) Aleksey Didenko asked the secretary general of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Dmitry Mezentsev to admit Russian allies from the Arabic countries (Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Palestine) to the organization.
Aleksey Didenko believes that Russia is the key player in the Middle East region. The successful military operation of the Russian army in Syria demonstrates this. Therefore, the entry of the regional allies into the organization will reinforce the position of Moscow.
Didenko noted that the entry of Palestine will be one of the most important steps as the situation in this country is the key issue of the Arabic world. Moreover, the Russian president demonstrates his loyalty to the president of the Palestinian autonomy Mahmoud Abbas to the international community.
“Palestinian map is as important as it has never been before. We see that there is a fire across the Arabic world. If Russia supports Palestine, the whole Sunni world will be our friend,” – he said.
The deputy reminded that Russia has supported Middle East countries’ interests since the Soviet period. He believes that Moscow should secure its results and attract its regional allies to the Shanghai organization. Russia is to support its allies.
It is worth reminding that SCO was founded in 2001 by the Shanghai Five (China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan). India and Pakistan have joined the organization this year. Afghanistan, Belorussia, Iran and Mongolia are observes at the organization.
