Did “Rubin” football players argue about the Russian shot down jet?
As reported by SporTerim, the Russian military jet shot down by Turkish military caused a conflict between two football players of Kazan “Rubin” Maxim Zhestokov and Gökdeniz Karadeniz.
According to some information, Russian player blamed a sportsman from Turkey for the shot down jet. In response, Karadeniz said: “Turkey has always protected its borders”.
When Turkish media raised the issue, “Rubin” denied the information above as there was no body contact between the football players.
“In the afternoon of the 24th of November, the regular team was training to prepare for UEFA Europe League match with “Sion”. Karadeniz did not take part in that training session. As for Zhestokov, he is currently not training with the regular team at all. So, the situation does not seem to be realistic,” – is claimed in the official statement of “Rubin” football club.
As stated on the football club official website, the football players were “very surprised” to hear these speculations.
The Turkish attacking midfielder Gökdeniz Karadeniz has been playing for Kazan “Rubin” since 2008. While in “Rubin”, the player has become a champion of Russia and Russian Super Cup twice and won Russian Championship.
Karadeniz is one of the team leaders. He was the team captain for a few times. The Turkish player has played 10 matches, scored 3 goals and had an assist.
