Anti-Turkish party joined Armenian parliament
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan offered the anti-Turkish party join the government.
According to the memorandum signed with the ruling Republican Party of the president, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (also known as Dashnaktsutyun) has obtained three ministerial posts and appointed two heads of the regional administration offices in Armenia. Ministers of economy, local government and education are representatives of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF). In the words of the top-echelon politicians of the country, the agreement with the Republican Party is the start of a “long-term political cooperation” based on common values, goals and activities.
ARF is the nationalist and socialist party which puts forward territorial requests addressed to Turkey. It currently has a small faction in the parliament of the country. There are only 5 people in it. Overall, there are 131 members in the legislative branch of Armenian power.

“Dashnaktsutyu” is very popular among the Armenian expat community abroad. The party has become pro-opposition when the government of Armenia signed the agreement on normalization of relations with Turkey in 2009.
The so called Zurich protocols which were meant to open borders between the two neighbouring countries have not been ratified by the parliaments of Armenia and Turkey. President Serzh Sargsyan called the documents away explaining that by the fact that Turkey did not seem to demonstrate any political will with regard to the case.
More than twenty countries including Russia and France recognised Armenian genocide in 1915-1917. The Ottoman Empire exterminated about 1.5 million of the Armenians. Turkey denies the Armenian genocide. According to the Turkish authorities, there was no deliberate massacre of the Armenians and about 500 thousand of the Turks died during different nationalities confrontations in 1890-1910.
