Turkey is preparing to host the G-20 summit

Turkey is hosting the 2015 G-20 summit in November 15-16. About 13 000 people, including powerful leaders of various countries, are to attend one of the most important political and economic forums in the world in Turkish Antalya.

The Group of Twenty (also known as the G-20) is an international forum for the governments and central banks from more than 20 major countries in the world. The member countries are Russia, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Great Britain, Japan, Canada, Italy, Mexico, India, France, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, China, South Africa, South Korea, Germany and the European Union (the organization is represented by the deputies of the European Commission and the European Council). It is worth noting that there were attempts to discuss financial and economic issues with a greater number of participants. In 1997, for example, the G33 group was created. Yet, two years later, the number of participants was reduced to 22. Another reduction took place sometime later and 20 countries have taken part in the forum since 2000.

Turkey is preparing to host the G-20 summit

Turkey was declared to hold the G-20 summit in December 2014. The Turkish government claimed that it would address the issues of inequalities while presiding the international organization. Despite the fact that the country is going to have the parliamentary elections this week, mass media thoroughly covers preparations for the summit. It is announced where the heads of the countries will stay. Antalya is one of the tourist centers of Turkey and there is no doubt that all the guests will be accommodated and served in the best way possible. The president of the US Barack Obama will stay at 5-star hotel “Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort”, president of PRC Xi Jinping will stay at “Sueno Otel”, French president Francois Hollande will stay at “Belis De Luxe”, the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel will stay at “Kempinski Hotel The Dome”. The delegation from Azerbaijan with the president of the country Ilham Aliev will stay at “Maxx Royal”. The country was invited to work at the summit. The king of Saudi Arabia Salman will stay at the hotel “Mardan Palасe”. The hotel was built by Telman Ismagilov who is a friend of the ex-mayor of Moscow Jury Luzhkov.

The G-20 2016 will be held in another Muslim country – Indonesia. Saudi Arabia will host the international forum in 2020.
